New Client Process

Thank you for your interest in becoming a new client with Alliant Therapy Group! You have just taken a positive step on the path toward growth and well-being. Please carefully read the information below to get a sense of our scheduling process and next steps if you decide you would like to contact us for an intake appointment. You can reach us by email at [email protected]. Let us know if you would prefer online video sessions, or in-person visits at one of our three office locations: Edmonds, Seattle (Queen Anne neighborhood), or Sedro-Woolley. (Intake appointments are always virtual.)

Insurance and Fees
If you have insurance, we’d be happy to find out more about your coverage with us. If you do not have insurance or mental health coverage or if we are out of network, we also offer discounted sessions at just $70 a visit for individuals, couples and families, so that cost does not have to be a barrier to your well-being. If you are not using insurance, the intake appointment is $110. If we are in network for your insurance, the cost of the intake appointment is determined by your insurance and we can provide an estimate of this for you after the benefits check.

Finding the Right Fit
Finding a counselor who "gets" you and who you feel comfortable with is important! In your Appointment Request Form please share briefly about what you are seeking counseling for. This can help us determine if we are the best place for your needs and provide additional resources if necessary.

If it sounds like Alliant might be a good fit, the next step is to schedule an initial assessment with one of our intake specialists. We will also send you a link to our New Client portal where you can fill out our electronic paperwork securely online. Intake appointments are 45-60 minutes long. The purpose of this visit is to learn a bit more about you and get a good sense of what you are seeking counseling for, and for you to decide if you feel comfortable here.

If it is determined that we may be a good fit, we will connect you with one of our counselors. This may or may not be with the counselor you met with for your intake visit. If there is space available, we can schedule you for the next available appointment that fits your needs. If all of our counselors are currently full, and you feel ok about waiting, we will add you to our wait list and reach out again just as soon as something opens up. If you would rather not be on a wait list, we can provide you with referrals who may have openings sooner.

If we feel that your care could be more effectively supported elsewhere or by someone with more specific expertise, we will provide you with several referrals tailored to your needs.

We do ask for a commitment of time and cost up front, and it is our hope that this initial investment will save you further effort in connecting you sooner with the support you are seeking, whether here at Alliant Therapy Group or with another trusted provider.
