Dana

Hi, my name is Dana (pr: danna) and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate providing Telehealth services across the state of Washington. I received a Master’s degree in Nutrition & Clinical Health Psychology from Bastyr University, and take a holistic and client-centered approach to counseling individuals, meeting you where you are at, and seeing you as a whole person: mind, body, and spirit.

My perspective is rooted in humanistic and existential psychology, with a strong belief that struggling is a sometimes unavoidable, often necessary, part of the human experience. Life is full of barriers to peace and fulfillment, and with more compassion and acceptance we can create space for growth and healing. Many adults today experience long-term feelings of anxiety and depression. There is a misconception that this simply means you experience frequent worry or sadness. Experiences of depression and anxiety can also impact one’s feelings of anger and motivation, relationship to control, and social satisfaction. My goal is to play a supportive role in your self-care, creating an honest and non-judgmental environment for you to explore your background, identity, strengths and barriers. I believe that the foundation of making positive change is developing self-awareness around learned behaviors and personal values. I work with clients to find sustainable, effective strategies and coping responses to help overcome life’s challenges.

As a trauma-informed therapist, I advocate for the best interests of all clients. I strive to demonstrate cultural sensitivity at all times, and enjoy working with adults regardless of race, citizenship, or gender identity.
