Rong

My name is Rong (she/her). I am a master's level student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Antioch University Seattle. Being a counselor is something that I have been dreaming about since I was little. I have so much respect, compassion, curiosity, openness, and sincerity for the counseling profession, and I am very honored to be part of it. I believe the magic of counseling is embedded in genuine human connections. We are all wired to connect.

My therapeutic approach is integrative (drawing from multiple modalities), trauma-informed, person-centered, and strengths-based. I believe in tailoring my services to each individual’s unique needs. I am here to create a brave, accepting, and non-judgmental container, where you can authentically and liberally express yourself. While holding unconditional positive regard, I hope to provide a secure space for you to work toward your goals.

We will work collaboratively to understand your unique counseling needs as well as set up realistic and achievable counseling goals. While we work together to build our therapeutic alliance, I will be actively attempting to further understand the world through your eyes. As counseling proceeds, I will follow your lead and pace and compassionately welcome any topics you feel comfortable bringing into our sessions. Last but not least, I hope to end our therapeutic relationship with a good sense of closure.

I am a first-generation immigrant from Southern China, and I also speak Mandarin and Cantonese.
